ABSTRACT: In this work, a set of strategies will be proposed considering an augmented state-space representation in the implementation of model-based predictive controllers to allow the use of decouplers with the guarantee of stability and robustness in multivariable linear systems with constraints. The new formulation is generic and can be used with several decouplers applicable to the process and various predictive controller strategies. An initial survey of the literature in the research area will be presented with the objective of providing a basis for the formalization of the proof of stability and robustness for the predictive controller using the proposed representation and the results will be presented through simulation case studies. The main contribution comes from obtaining decoupled responses with guarantees of stability and robustness.
