Abstract:

This work concerns the design and implementation of the radio frequency interface of a full-duplex transceiver, whose operation occurs around 433 MHz. This radio transceiver is an integral part of a 1:N star-type sensor network, in which a single central unit manages the N sensor units. This central unit is responsible for both remote power supply and presentation of data from the sensors. Each sensor unit, the focus of this work, consists of a non-magnetic circulator that allows simultaneous transmission and reception of signals. The receiver of this unit consists of an RF-DC power converter and an ASK demodulator. The transmitter is built from a sinusoidal oscillator with SAW resonator that performs the following functions: carrier generator, power amplifier and FSK modulator. The measurement results show that a 20 mW signal on the antenna of the sensor unit provides power to the remote unit and results in a 1.2 mW signal at the output of the power oscillator of this unit.
